Does this surprise anybody?

You scored as Emergent/Postmodern. You are Emergent/Postmodern in your theology. You feel alienated from older forms of church, you don't think they connect to modern culture very well. No one knows the whole truth about God, and we have much to learn from each other, and so learning takes place in dialogue. Evangelism should take place in relationships rather than through crusades and altar-calls. People are interested in spirituality and want to ask questions, so the church should help them to do this.

Well I don't know what to make of my situation here yet. The politics with getting an assitant is interesting, but I will you spare you the details. I am not sure what the situation is but it is still up in the air. I don't know how they expect me to do the job unless I get someone to do the day to day duties.

On another note, I got a free year membership to a nice health club that had it's grand opening this weekend. I am in my worst shape since my first year in college so I figure I need to drop about 40 lbs to get back into shape.

Also now that I am making money, I have been thinking about how donate my alloteted amount each month. For one since I haven't really committed my self to a ministry here, I don't where to give here yet. But one thing I did find is World Vision. World Vision is a Christian relief organization that supported as part of the One campaign and is also given kudo by Coldplay. Well as I was exploring the website, there is a subministry that give microloans. In essence, what they do is give small loans to third world people to start businesses and the loans are then repaid over time. Many people complain that giving money or material goods away to somebody will not help so they just don't give at all. But I think this is a great idea. It is very much like Habitat for Humanity where it gives a hand up not a hand out. In a way you are investing in companies but not for financial gain, but for moral benefit. So I will probably start giving to this in some fashion along with the Ooze, a ministry that has slowly helped revolutionize how Chrisitians act as a community.

Also I had a revelation while listening to Coldplays new album. As I was listening to "Speed of Sound", it occured to me that musically it was a typical Coldplay song. But if you listen to the lyrics, it is a very beatiful song about creation on so many levels. I can see it used in a video that starts with a scen from Joan of Arcadia that goes like this.
Joan: If you are God show me a miracle.
God: Allright here it is.
Joan: That is just a tree.
God: Let me see you do it.

Finally I bought two books this week. Pocket Guide to the Apocolypse, which is very sarcastic and funny especially if you are tired of Left Behind. And Summond to Lead b y Leonard Sweet.

That is it. Till next time.

Oh wait. Here is a site that combines my two favorite things, Muppets and movies.

WelI l I have offically been in california now for about 2 weeks. So far the job is still etchy. Alot of it depends on if I get a full time assitant. If I can get one, then I can do more engineering and process improvement stuff. If not I will be doing more lab stuff and I will be itching to find a job with more engineering elsewhere.

On the plus side, I attended the church here that I have been looking at for the second time and I talked to the new head pastor who had just got here 2 weeks ago as well. He chose the church because he too was interested in the emerging church. So he wants to meet for a beer some time and talk some more. Way cool.

Other than that I have mainly working on my laptop try to Ubuntu Linux to work and learning alot abouthow linux works as a program and a community. I see parallels here between Linux and the church as God intended.

I have also seen Crash at the movies. It is to racism what Traffic is to drugs. A very good movie. I also saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Good date movie if your woman likes violence. But not worth 8.50.

That is it for now.
