Back Again
Hello everybody. As most of you know I am in Tennesse now instead of California thank goodness. Now they say they God works in mysterious ways. Well thankfully through various moving bonuses, I was able to pay off most of the debt I had accumulated from my term of employment. That is until I had to get a new vehicle. But luckily I am making enough where I can pay things off in a short time.
Luckily my new surrounding is more than I could have asked for a few years ago. I am making more money, doing more what I want to do career wise, more with "my kind" (midwest folk) and closer to friends and family.
Despite all of this, I do miss Minnesota and my friends there. Here I feel more materially better off, but I feel my live has less worth in that my life is more shallow.
One thing I struggle with this is my singleness and my desire to recreate what it means to be a church. I feel like the things I want do to in life I can't do with just the support of friends. I need somebody who understands me better from the outside in. But yet I don't want to settle for just anybody. Which leads to my desire to be part of the emerging church. When all of your friends and family is more aligned with the Institutional church (IC), it makes it hard to find somebody who understands my take on being a follower of God. In fact that last two women I have tried to date, listed religous differences as there main reason not to date me. Now I could compromise myself, but being part of the postmodern Christian community has almost become my amateur profession and to give it up would almost be denying what God has planned for me. So if any you know any single, somewhat active women who are between 25 and 32, please have them take this test,

If they come up as postmodern/emergent, give them my email, I would like to talk to them.
In other news, I am finally settled in as I have an apartment for 6 months so I almost have a normal life. I am looking to be creative in how I give money. I have already given to world vision, salvation army, and other places.
One idea I have is to set up a nonprofit mutual fund sight. In that each person picks from several charitable sources and what fraction of their monthly giving goes to each one. Then say someone gives $300 a month to charities. one half to local church, one fourth to NPR, and on fourth to Salvation army, then every month $150 dollars would automatically go to the church, 75$ to NPR, and $75 to Salvation Army. All of this would be done through automatic withdrawl from the checking account, the ratio and organizations can be changed when ever as well as the dollar amount. Also special gifts can be done. Now one would probably want to give to the local church in the old fashion way in that giving to the God is in itself an act of worship and maybe part of the worship experience it self. So if anybody has any idea on how to do this on a website, email me. I have some more details that might make it work.
That is it for now.
