Walk the Line. Where are the chrisitians

I am watching a special on Walk the Line, the biopic coming out on one of my personal heros, Johnny Cash. Just by looking at the clips, I can tell this will be a very powerful movie. As one who has followed Cash since he started doing albums with Rick Rubin, I will say that there is no other person who is a better testimony to Jesus. This is a man who is respected by almost everybody and is honest about his relationship with God.

Then it occured to me that here is all of this church publicity and marketing with the Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. There are prescreenings for pastors and free passes, and Probably some bible studies with it as well. But as I watch the Cash clips, it occurs to me that Walk the Line will better show people God than C.S. Lewis's movie. And I think the Mr. Lewis would agree.

Cash's life was changed by God through his wife June. And he was a real person. He story show God working now and what the relationship can do. While the Lion, the Witch and Wardrobe has some great theological allegories, it lack the testimonial impact of actually seeing someone's whole life being transformed. And if I was going to tell someone to see a movie with and then talk with them about it, well I would have to pick Walk the Line.

Presumably you are unaware that Johnny was a fairly hefting abuser of the marching powder (speed). So to say he is akin to Jesus seems somewhat fanciful, as does belief in Jesus to my mind.
